How to Remove a Watermark from a Photo on iPhone or iPad

You can remove a text-based watermark from an image on an iPhone or iPad without transferring the file to a computer. The browser workflow is best suited to your own images, licensed assets, and files you otherwise have permission to modify.

Use the browser tool

1. Open TextRemover in Safari or another modern browser.
2. Choose the image from Photos or Files.
3. Wait for visible text to be detected.
4. Select the watermark as a complete line, or switch to words for a more precise edit.
5. Process the selection and inspect the reconstructed area before downloading.

Make a careful selection

Selecting more background than necessary gives the model a larger area to invent. For a corner signature, select only the signature. For a repeated text grid, process related sections in manageable groups and compare each result with the original.

Understand what can and cannot be recovered

A removal model estimates what belongs behind the watermark. It does not reveal the exact original pixels. Results are usually more predictable over sky, walls, water, or soft gradients. Fine facial details, typography, product edges, and geometric patterns are more challenging.

Preserve your original

Download the edited result as a separate file and keep the original in Photos. This gives you a clean comparison and lets you retry with a narrower selection if the first result is not convincing.

Use watermarks responsibly

Watermarks often communicate ownership or licensing. Remove them only when you created the image, obtained the appropriate license, or have explicit permission from the rights holder.
